The Recession (Chopped & Screwed)

History of Purple Tape (10/22/2025): This tape is somehow still alive. Wish some of my others made the old journey. Oh well, have fun if you're curious about my style from October 28th of 2009. I collaborated with a lot of DJs and I was doing several projects on my own. I think this was the first project I found the jet flanger effect and I started using it but I was still using that weird spacey one even on this tape. So glad I don't use that space flanger anymore.

Purple Tape Record DJs:

- DJ Ice (he still out there. He was really dope. I tried to match him and I remember it being hard at the time. Think I could give him a good run now)

- DJ DreDre (have no clue where the homie is)

- DJ 21-6

Solo DJs:

- Myself (I was not with PTR yet at this time)

- DJ CrazyD aka DSoldier (I think he's retired now)

- DJ Slim-Z (He might be PTR now, haven't checked)

I'll be honest. Some tracks are sloppy, and some are done okay. Some blends are off and the volume on some tracks are quite loud. The only stand-out tracks I would say exist on here are Welcome Back (Ice is nice asf, and I feel like my style now emulates his the closest) and What They Want. I'll have to listen in on it again and give my updated thoughts on good tracks. We all just wanted to have fun with this. Stay Screwed Up.
